2017 Partners in Preparedness Workshop
The City of Los Angeles’ Emergency Management Department (LAEMD) and Los Angeles Emergency Preparedness Foundation (LAEPF) humbly request that help support this year’s Emergency Management Workshop. The Workshop will be held this Fall and we are honored to be meeting at UCLA’s new and extraordinary Meyer & Renee Luskin Conference Center – located in the heart of the campus.
The theme of the conference is: Partners in Preparedness – which will be a “whole of community” approach to emergency management, disaster preparedness and resilience. Every year, over 200 Los Angeles area senior officials attend the conference. We are very pleased to have LA Mayor Garcetti, LAPD Chief Beck and LAFD Chief Terrazas joining us along with numerous private sector senior executives and community stakeholders.
The two-day event is designed to provide a collaborative environment for education, partnership building, planning, direction and commitment on and with specific actions and programs that support our great community. LAEMD plays a key role helping lead community preparedness and resilience efforts at the Los Angeles Emergency Operations Center (LAEOC). In the event of a man-made or natural disaster, multiple and vital city departments like Los Angeles Police, Fire and other city departments and agencies, along with the private sector, are able to coordinate and manage critical needs while having a focused approach within affected areas.
Please do know that the workshop can only be made possible with the generous support from sponsors that understand the importance of LA’s commitment to community outreach and resilience and that is why we are looking for outstanding organizations to partner with us. Doing so would enable us to involve as many stakeholders as possible and allow us to have the best LAEMD/LAEPF Workshop yet.
